This isn’t quite right. I’ve messed around with it in Gimp and still can’t get the colors to look as good as the original. Gilbert is missing a lot of fine detail that I see in the original watercolor.

This illustration is not in the books, but it’s nice to have pictures with posts. The scan doesn’t do Caroline Cooper’s work justice (see caption) but it will have to do.

If you’ve been reading the Family Reading Gifts, excerpts from Miss Missy’s School Book I: A Pack of Farm Dogs Starts a School, you’ve gotten a sense of the story. And if you’ve seen the “As Someone Once Said,” and the other posts from the Grownup Blog, you know about all of the extras the book has to offer children and their grownups.

So I wonder if you’d mind leaving some stars, and writing a review at Goodreads (or where you bought the book)? As you’ve seen, I’m working hard to get this “fun and unique” story out into the world. I’ve very much appreciate your help and a few kind words. Thank you!
